Resealing application – What does means?

Firstly, according to the Probates (Resealing application) Law in Cyprus, if a District Probate Registry in a commonwealth country granted a Probate Order. This regarding the assets of the deceased, the Court in Cyprus can re-sealing the same probate order. That regarding the property of the deceased in Cyprus.

PROBATE ORDER – Resealing application

Therefore, since there is a commonwealth PROBATE ORDER the application to Cypriot Courts will be slightly different. We have to file a Resealing application, with which we will request from Cyprus Court to reseal the foreign will and grand power of Attorney to someone who will be acting on commonwealth country’s Executor’s behalf in Cyprus. However, the executors should has be permanent residence of Cyprus.

Once Cyprus Court reseals the foreign Probate Order and / or will, then the assets (immovable or movable property) of the deceased in Cyprus can distributed as per the Deceased Will.
